How fast your life can change
If you want different results, start making different choices. People may believe that honesty won't win you many friends--but even if that were true, the friends you make with honesty will be the right ones.
Honesty is the cornerstone of all success, without which confidence and the ability to perform cannot exist. Once you realize perfect doesn't exist, you can ease up on yourself.
There's no harm in being wrong or making mistakes, as long as you're willing to make corrections. Just be yourself, flaws and all, and let people see the real you. Each of us is an imperfect human being, aware that we can't push away our failures and our flaws.
Remember, winners aren't people who never fail but people who never quit. It's important to never let success get to your head or failure to your heart. The secret to getting ahead is to acknowledge your failures and have the wisdom to apply them to new opportunities. Accept that you won't always make the right decisions. A keystone is a middle stone in an arch that holds all the other stones together. Keystone habits encourage the development of other related habits. In his book, The Power of Habit, Charles Duhigg suggests that exercise is a powerful keystone habit:.
They smoke less and show more patience with colleagues and family. They use their credit cards less frequently and say they feel less stressed. Exercise is a keystone habit that triggers widespread change. Another example of a keystone habit is practicing gratitude. A study by Emmons and McCullough found that keeping a daily gratitude journal can increase our sense of well-being, improve our sleep, help lower symptoms of physical pain, and — get this — improve our willingness to accept change.
What significant change or keystone habit will you focus on first? I'm committed to this goal because I want to earn more money, empower myself, and learn something new Relevant. Then, treat your smart goal like a compass. To put it another way, you may get stressed and tired of trying all the time. There may be voices in your head that say things like, "you'll never change," "I'll do it later," and "what's the point anyway?
So, if you really want to change your life for the better, prepare for the storms before they hit. For example, you could join an online community committed to achieving the same change that you want to make, this way you can access additional support when you need it. You could also create a vision board to remind you of what you're working towards. You can also remove things that lead to bad behaviors to stop yourself from slipping into bad habits.
For instance, if you're trying to improve your diet and fitness, you could remove all unhealthy food from your home. Although no tactic can replace your inner motivation and drive, you can help your future-self to ride out the storms until clarity and motivation return.
When learning how to change your life for the better, don't forget that you need others' support. What's more, you also need to manage people who actively hold you back or discourage you from changing your life. As the author John Eliot said, "As soon as anyone starts telling you to be 'realistic,' cross that person off your invitation list. Look, many people instinctively won't like it when you start to make changes in your life — but it doesn't mean they're bad people.
Remember, change is scary, uncomfortable, and unnerving. Still, if you want to transform your life, you may need to protect yourself from people who unconsciously try to pull you back into your old self.

Trying to deny the importance of your most basic requirements for functioning does not mean you are busy and important, it means you are ignorant and setting yourself up for a breakdown or burnout. You know that the people you spend the most time with have a significant impact on who you will become.
But do you also realize that what you are surrounding yourself with and putting into your head is having just as much, if not even more, of an effect on you? Take a serious look at who you follow online and what their presence on your newsfeed does for you, or perhaps how cluttered your home or office space is.
This is your environment, and it is having a silent, and often subconscious, impact on you at all times.
In Mel Robbin's The 5 Second Rule , she explains that a lot of what holds people back is those few seconds between when you have an amazing idea, and when your brain interferes. She says that to really move your life forward, you need to act on your ideas before you convince yourself not to.
At the same time, it's imperative to learn that just because you do not feel like doing something does not mean you are incapable of doing it. Your feelings do not impact your ability. If you aren't someone who can get through a book, that's okay.
But it's not an excuse to stop learning, growing and developing yourself. Follow people on social media that post or share interesting articles and ideas.
Read a news story in the morning. Listen to an audiobook on your commute. How much you read is directly related to your self-growth, and your self-growth is directly related to your external success. Whereas sifting through TV channels was once the mindless past time of years past, now it's scrolling through news feeds. Train yourself to limit your "scroll" time each day. Try one of those browser installations that give you a set amount of time you can spend on a website in a day before it blocks access to the site, or apps that counts how many times you open social media apps.
